Community Project:
Volunteers of America

I've had the good fortune of working with Volunteers of America on two separate projects in 2019 and 2020.

Crosswalk Building

Located in Spokane WA, this project involved the use of fire extinguishers filled with paint to create variants of color across the face of the building, with stylized iterations of the organization's branding.

Eye Contact

This was a demonstration that involved audience participation in graffiti. Members came up to "tag" the canvas board, while I coached them on proper technique. At the end of the demonstration, black was applied to create an image, in this case, a portrait. The goal of this demonstration was to communicate the importance of everyone's involvement in beautifying our city, regardless of talent of contributions size, and to remind the audience that even art forms we don't understand can require large amounts of skill and practice to perfect.
